Accessibility Statement

Chaosology is committed to making Legally Rent usable for as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. We treat accessibility as part of how the product is built — in the markup itself — rather than as a bolt-on overlay.

Conformance target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This is the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA Title III), the European Accessibility Act and EN 301 549, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and the UK Equality Act. We work toward it on an ongoing basis as we add and change pages.

What we’ve done

• A “skip to main content” link and a semantic <main> landmark on every page.
• A clear, high-contrast keyboard focus indicator on every interactive element.
• Dialogs and pop-ups that move focus in on open, trap focus while open, close on Escape, and return focus on close.
• Form fields with associated labels, and errors announced to assistive technology.
• Respect for the operating-system “reduce motion” setting.
• Text and interface colours chosen to meet AA contrast ratios.
• Meaningful alternative text on images; decorative images hidden from screen readers.

Known limitations

We are honest about work in progress. Some complex, interactive components — such as the coverage map and certain data visualisations — may not yet be fully optimised for every screen reader, and a small number of third-party embeds are outside our direct control. We are actively working to address these.

Assistive technology & browsers

We test with current versions of major browsers and with built-in assistive technology (VoiceOver, and keyboard-only navigation). Using the latest version of your browser and assistive tools generally gives the best experience.

If you encounter anything on Legally Rent that is difficult to use or inaccessible, please tell us — we treat these reports as a priority and will work with you to provide the information or service you need through an alternative channel if necessary.
