1. Who these terms are with

Legally Rent is a brand operated by Chaosology Technologies Private Limited (Private Limited Company), registration number U72200TN2019PTC133137, registered office 6 Sankar Colony, II Floor, Opposite D-Mart, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu 627002, India. By using this website or the Legally Rent service you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

2. What we provide

Legally Rent helps landlords and tenants draft, e-stamp, e-sign, register, and manage rental agreements, and collect rent, in supported Indian states. Availability of specific features (such as online registration) varies by state. We are a technology provider; we are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.

3. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information and use the service lawfully.
• Ensure you are entitled to enter into the agreements you create.
• Keep your account credentials secure and don’t misuse the platform.

4. Fees

Pricing for paid features is shown on our Pricing page. Government charges such as stamp duty and registration fees are set by the relevant authority and are payable in addition to our fees. [TO CONFIRM with counsel: refunds and billing terms.]

5. Third-party services

Identity verification, e-stamp, e-sign, and payment functions are delivered through licensed third-party providers. Their availability and outputs are subject to those providers’ own terms and to applicable law.

6. Intellectual property

The Legally Rent name, site, and software are owned by Chaosology Technologies Private Limited and may not be copied or reused without permission. You keep ownership of the content and documents you create.

7. Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. [TO CONFIRM with counsel: warranty and liability limits.]

8. Acceptable use

Your use of the service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these terms — in particular the requirements around identity honesty and stamp-duty integrity.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Chaosology Technologies Private Limited, its officers, employees and contractors (including the document writers who purchase stamp certificates on your instructions) from any claim, loss, liability, penalty or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (a) information you provide that is false or misleading — including rent, deposit, duration or identity details that affect the stamp duty payable or the validity of the agreement; (b) your breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy; (c) your misuse of tenant background-verification reports; or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right in connection with your use of the service. This does not require you to indemnify us for loss caused by our own negligence or wilful default, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Refunds

Payments, cancellations and refunds — including how government stamp duty is treated — are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

11. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

12. Governing law & grievances

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the Courts at Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, India. Complaints can be raised through our Grievance Redressal process.
